About

Coordinated preparedness efforts across the region.

Established to coordinate efforts among regional emergency response agencies, the Region V Emergency Preparedness Coalition has built a strong collaborative of acute care hospitals, federally qualified health centers, county and state emergency response agencies from both the private and public sectors. We exist to enable a more effective response to regional health disasters and crises in order to create a safer and more resilient community.

Hospital Preparedness Program.

The Region V Emergency Preparedness Coalition is funded through Maryland’s Hospital Preparedness Program Grant from the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR). The Hospital Preparedness Program provides leadership and funding to States, territories, and eligible municipalities to improve surge capacity and enhance hospitals and other healthcare systems preparedness for public health emergencies. The funds are distributed to state and territory departments of public health to support the building of healthcare capabilities in ASPR’s 2017-2022 Health Care Preparedness and Response Capabilities.

Our mission drives our tactics.

To provide a process for collaborative preparedness, planning and response to incidents across Region V through partnerships, resource building and sharing.

Our Vision: We’ve set high goals.

To develop a coordinated and effective medical and public health system response to all hazards through effective communication systems and protocols; strategic acquisition and management of resources; and collaborative mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities.

Our Vision: We’ve set high goals.

We invite you to become an integral part of the Region V coalition and support our regional preparedness capabilities.
