We are a strong collaborative of heathcare responders, receivers, and providers with the ability to effectively support a coordinated health care preparedness response.

Our goal is to positively impact the health and medical needs of the million-plus population within Maryland Region V, which consists of Calvert, Charles, Montgomery, Prince George’s, and St. Mary’s counties.

Strategies for strengthening capabilities

To better meet the preparedness needs of Region V, we continually strive to update and educate both public and private responders and providers through effective communication systems and protocols; strategic acquisition and management of resources; and collaborative mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery activities. Ours is an ongoing operation focused on keeping Region V ever-ready.

Our initiatives include:

Bringing together regional members and growing our team of partners which includes Fire/EMS, Hospitals, Public Health, Emergency Management and community agencies

Training on regional plan components and conducting exercises

Regularly testing redundant communication capabilities across the region.
